Bull Secures €30 Million AI Infrastructure Contract for Mimer AI Factory

Bull has won a five-year, €30 million contract to deliver AI-optimized infrastructure for Sweden’s Mimer AI Factory. The project is a collaboration with EuroHPC JU, co-funded by the Digital Europe Programme and the Swedish Research Council, and will be deployed at NAISS (National Academic Infrastructure for Supercomputing in Sweden).

About Mimer AI Factory

Launched in 2025, the Mimer AI Factory provides advanced computing resources for industry and research across multiple sectors including:

  • Life sciences
  • Materials science
  • Autonomous systems
  • Gaming

The factory currently supports over 200 companies and is seeing growing demand from SMEs and startups seeking scalable, secure AI-optimized computing capacity.

Contract Deliverables

Bull will provide an integrated AI infrastructure package including:

  • Cloud-enabled supercomputing resources
  • Advanced software layers
  • Specialist expertise for AI use case development and deployment
  • Maintenance and support services
  • Training programs for NAISS teams and end users

Technology Foundation

The infrastructure will be built on Bull’s BullSequana XH3500 supercomputing architecture, specifically designed for AI workloads. Key features include:

  • Cloud-style access for improved flexibility and broader accessibility
  • Direct liquid cooling technology for enhanced energy efficiency
  • BullSequana AI platform combining European-developed data and AI software capabilities
  • Preconfigured AI environments enabling developers to focus on applications rather than infrastructure management

Expected Impact

This project aims to advance AI adoption across research, industry, and public sector applications, including sovereign language model development and work in life sciences and autonomous systems.
