Vertiv, a worldwide chief in vital digital infrastructure, lately introduced its partnership with Digital Realty to offer next-generation infrastructure for ROM1, the latter’s inaugural knowledge centre in Italy. Positioned with a deliberate capability exceeding 3 MW, this settlement not solely strengthens present ties but additionally expands the suite of Vertiv options throughout Europe, with notable operations in Paris, Madrid, and Amsterdam.

The ROM1 facility guarantees state-of-the-art cooling and energy programs, catering particularly to high-performance computing (HPC) setups. By capitalising on Rome’s distinctive local weather, the implementation consists of pioneering free-cooling programs, whereas energy-efficient energy administration ensures sturdy help for high-density workloads.

Projected to begin operations in 2027, the ability’s phased implementation marks its place as a carrier-neutral centre optimised for AI and machine studying purposes. Strategically situated, ROM1 serves as a conduit connecting Rome to main Mediterranean cities by way of fibre networks and submarine cables. By early 2026, connectivity growth to Barcelona is underway, additional solidifying the Mediterranean community.
