Vantage Knowledge Facilities, a famend supplier of hyperscale knowledge centre campuses, has efficiently finalized a considerable $1.6 billion fairness funding to spice up its Asia-Pacific (APAC) platform. This enterprise was spearheaded by an affiliate of GIC, a world institutional investor, alongside a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Funding Authority (ADIA).

With a part of this capital, Vantage has acquired Yondr Group’s in depth hyperscale knowledge centre campus in Sedenak Tech Park, Johor, Malaysia. Introduced earlier in September, this acquisition signifies a robust growth, taking Vantage’s regional footprint to a powerful 1GW of operational and deliberate IT capability. This covers strategic hubs similar to Australia, Malaysia, Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.

The inclusion of the Johor campus represents Vantage’s third website in Malaysia, enhancing its service attain to essential APAC markets like Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand. In line with Jeremy Deutsch, president of Vantage Knowledge Facilities, APAC, this improvement is pivotal to their development technique within the area, facilitating scalable and sustainable infrastructure options for AI and cloud prospects.

Encompassing practically 73 acres, the Johor campus, referred to as JHB1, guarantees to supply over 300MW of IT capability throughout its three knowledge centres upon full improvement. Located throughout the Johor-Singapore Particular Financial Zone, the campus boasts strategic connectivity through darkish fibre routes, linking to important regional hubs. Initially financed via a inexperienced mortgage, JHB1 incorporates sustainability-focused applied sciences similar to direct-to-chip liquid cooling and is on observe for EDGE certification.

With the acquisition, Vantage welcomes greater than 30 crew members from Yondr APAC, enhancing their operational capabilities as they attempt to help prospects in key places.
