Telehouse and RWE agree 10-year Power Purchase Agreement

Telehouse and RWE agree 10-year Power Purchase Agreement

Telehouse Worldwide has signed a 10-year energy buy settlement (PPA) with RWE, the UK’s largest energy generator and a world main renewable vitality firm.

Beneath the settlement RWE will provide a considerable quantity of the renewable vitality used at Telehouse’s London Docklands campus, Europe’s most related knowledge centre hub, till the tip of 2035. The electrical energy can be equipped by the London Array offshore wind farm positioned within the outer Thames Estuary. The PPA will begin in October 2025 and can safe the availability of energy to Telehouse and its clients for a few years to return.

Mushtaq Choudhary, Head of Procurement at Telehouse Europe, mentioned: “Telehouse is dedicated to enhancing vitality effectivity, selling inexperienced procurement, and lowering our carbon footprint and that of our clients. Because of this PPA with RWE, the electrical energy bought for our London Docklands campus will proceed to be derived from renewable vitality sources, demonstrating our efforts to drive effectivity at our campus and ship actual advantages for our clients.

London Array is operated by RWE and owned by a consortium of 4 companions (RWE, Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, Greencoat UK Wind PLC, Masdar Vitality UK Restricted). It has 175 wind generators and an put in capability of 630 megawatts. From the time of its opening in 2013 till September 2018, it was the biggest offshore wind farm on the earth.
