Portus Information Facilities, a supplier of carrier-neutral colocation options in regional markets, has introduced the appointment of Richard Pimper as the brand new Chief Working Officer (COO) and Chief Know-how Officer (CTO), efficient January 1, 2026. On this twin position, Richard will lead the technological technique and oversee essential operational points as Portus continues alongside its development trajectory.

Previous to becoming a member of Portus, Richard Pimper held the place of Vice President and Chief Know-how Officer of Digital Energy at Huawei. With a give attention to digital power options for knowledge centres and important infrastructure, he was chargeable for setting the strategic route and overseeing know-how initiatives.

Richard brings over 25 years of expertise in IT infrastructure, knowledge centres, and cloud methods. His experience lies on the intersection of know-how, operations, and economics, with a specific give attention to scalable infrastructure fashions, cloud adoption, and sustainable, energy-efficient operational approaches.

As COO and CTO, Richard’s mission shall be to develop and scale technical platforms, advance energy-efficient knowledge centre options, and foster the operational integration of latest places. Portus operates extremely related knowledge centres at regional places, aiming to fulfill rising demand for safe, scalable, and energy-efficient IT infrastructure.

Beneath its expanded management, Portus plans to put money into regional capability, as illustrated by the MUC2 edge knowledge centre enlargement in Kirchheim, close to Munich.
