Latent AI, a frontrunner in edge AI options, has been chosen by the U.S. Division of Protection (DoD) for the APFIT program to advance edge AI applied sciences for protection purposes.

The award builds on the success of Mission AMMO, which decreased AI mannequin replace occasions from months to days utilizing Latent AI’s Environment friendly Inference Platform (LEIP). Mission AMMO demonstrated the worth of edge AI in enabling real-time decision-making in contested environments, initially specializing in naval mine countermeasures.

Latent AI joins 4 different firms within the APFIT program, with funding evenly distributed to reinforce edge AI capabilities.

“The APFIT program marks a pivotal step in our mission to ship trusted edge AI to warfighters,” says Neal Byrd, Federal Vice President at Latent AI. “It extends the groundbreaking success of Mission AMMO, the place we collaborated with the DIU and Navy to cut back mannequin replace occasions from months to days, enabling sailors to course of and adapt knowledge on-site for sooner, more practical responses. This award underscores the DoD’s recognition of optimized edge AI as important for tactical benefit.”

Latent AI’s expertise focuses on optimizing and deploying AI fashions in resource-constrained environments, crucial for contemporary protection methods.
