NorthC expands footprint with new data centre in Arlesheim

NorthC, a distinguished regional information centre supplier, has unveiled plans for a brand new information facility on the Innovation Campus uptownBasel in Arlesheim. This strategic transfer amplifies NorthC’s collaboration with uptownBasel, providing infrastructure catered to pioneering applied sciences like AI and quantum computing.

Set to start operations by mid-2027, the development venture is slated to start 18 months post-permit approval. The uptownBasel hub serves as a big innovation ecosystem, integrating tech enterprises, startups, and educational establishments to drive digital development.

The brand new information centre will occupy a 2,500 m² space within the preliminary growth stage, offering 6 MVA of energy. Dedicated to sustainability, the ability will utilise 100% renewable power, with inexperienced diesel powering backup techniques, aligning with NorthC’s purpose of local weather neutrality by 2030. Moreover, the design will incorporate waste warmth restoration for residential heating.

The inception of this facility fortifies NorthC’s enduring alliance with uptownBasel. It enhances NorthC’s standing as a pivotal infrastructure supplier for MedTech, Business 4.0, and AI within the Basel space, complementing present websites in Münchenstein.

With this enlargement, NorthC will handle 5 information centres nationwide, cementing its repute for dependable and sustainable providers inside Switzerland. The brand new centre will act as a cornerstone for technological innovation, providing a nurturing surroundings for startups and attracting expertise to Arlesheim.

This newest facility underscores NorthC’s dedication to establishing Switzerland as an important innovation hub, rooted in a dedication to progressive and futuristic endeavours.
