The ribbon was lower by Councillor Emma Taylor (Labour Councillor for the Sharston Ward), and the occasion was attended by distinguished company, together with members of Manchester Metropolis Council, who collaborated carefully with Datum all through the challenge. Their joint efforts ensured the ability aligns with the targets of Wythenshawe’s ongoing regeneration, making a cutting-edge useful resource to assist the group’s sustainable development and innovation.

Commenting on the launch, Matt Edgley, COO at Datum Datacentres, mentioned:

“We’re thrilled to have formally opened MCR2. From the outset, our imaginative and prescient for MCR2 was to set new requirements in operational resilience and reliability, whereas embedding sustainability at its core. This facility stands as a testomony to our dedication to fostering constructive social and environmental change, supporting the native economic system and enjoying an lively position within the regeneration of Wythenshawe.” 

MCR2 was in-built direct response to Manchester’s quickly rising demand for resilient, high-quality information centre infrastructure. The brand new facility gives capability for as much as 1,200 racks, every able to as much as 30kW energy supply on twin circuits, supported by 2N stage resilience. MCR2 gives a number one design PUE of 1.25, a 100% energy availability SLA, and a complicated deal with sustainability, safety, and operational excellence. Safety is additional bolstered by the inclusion of an on-site police-linked Alarm Receiving Centre and the positioning’s NSI Gold certification (BS5979 SOC).

Councillor Emma Taylor, Labour Councillor for the Sharston Ward, commented:
