Global provider of network connectivity solutions, CommScope (NASDAQ: COMM), has announced enhancements of its SYSTIMAX 2.0 offering, the next iteration of its SYSTIMAX building and data center connectivity portfolio that offers clients the newest structured cabling solutions and support to tackle both present and future challenges.

Two new networking solutions are being unveiled by CommScope, namely GigaSPEED XL5 and VisiPORT. This multi-patented approach called GigaSPEED XL5 allows users to go from 1-Gbit/sec copper to 2.5/5-Gbit Ethernet before committing to 10-Gbit/sec copper.

CommScope claims that the VisiPORT solution, an automated system for monitoring copper and fiber port status and capacity, increases productivity, lowers mistakes, and eliminates the need for continuous database maintenance.

Luc Adriaenssens, Vice President of Enterprise Product Management and R&D at CommScope, said, “With the SYSTIMAX 2.0 enhancements, CommScope is expanding its support for future customer needs with continuous technology innovation, world-class performance and reliability, application assurance, and unrivaled global support. To make sure we continue to meet those needs, we will be continuously improving the SYSTIMAX portfolio of products and services.”

GigaSPEED XL5 and VisiPORT

Applications like multigigabit backhaul communication for sophisticated wireless access points are supported by CommScope’s GigaSPEED XL5 system. This new solution would keep GigaSPEED XL solution’s easy installation while supporting 2.5/5 gigabit Ethernet applications in 4-connector, 100m channels with bundled cables.

The automated copper and fiber port status and capacity monitoring system known as CommScope’s new VisiPORT solution woul allow for minimized errors by using real-time data to guide decision-making. The VisiPORT solution, for example, can detect and communicate events upon plug insertion or removal and can send out notifications about unauthorized or unexpected patching activities. With the option to specify user-defined criteria for action, the system offers immediate port status and capacity information and is simple to implement. The VisiPORT solution consists of intelligent copper panels and fiber shelves with built-in system controllers and port sensors.

The entire imVision Automated Infrastructure Management (AIM) solution from CommScope is built on the port-sensing technology that is used in this solution. Data center and infrastructure administrators probably want straightforward real-time analytics to boost productivity and reduce connection faults in a dynamic environment. This demand is satisfied by the SYSTIMAX VisiPORT solution.

SYSTIMAX Assurance Upgrade

CommScope is also introducing new improved capabilities with the SYSTIMAX Assurance program. These include more than 10,000 SYSTIMAX-certified partners across 130 countries and 360-degree customer support from more than 80 Systems Engineering teams worldwide.

Along with a slew of additional advantages, the SYSTIMAX Assurance program now offers live, 24/7 premium technical assistance, all supported by CommScope’s 25-year product extended warranty and application assurance.
