atNorth expands Nordic footprint with new Stockholm data centre

atNorth expands Nordic footprint with new Stockholm data centre

In a transfer to broaden its Nordic presence, atNorth, a high-density colocation and customised knowledge centre operator, is ready to assemble a brand new facility in Stockholm. This would be the firm’s eleventh Nordic knowledge centre, incorporating warmth reuse and designed for energy-efficient operation.

The upcoming website, often known as SWE02, can be situated close to atNorth’s SWE01 facility, which commenced operations in March 2022. SWE02 could have a 30MW capability and embrace warmth reuse capabilities, permitting extra warmth to be redirected to be used inside the local people in collaboration with Stockholm Exergi.

Peter Sivengård from Stockholm Exergi famous that such partnerships contribute to useful resource effectivity and Stockholm’s round economic system.

The location is designed to help cluster operations and keep redundancy by separating shopper workloads. SWE02 is scheduled to start operations within the fourth quarter of 2027.

Stockholm’s Mayor, Karin Wanngård, highlighted that the event might create employment alternatives and contribute to the town’s digital infrastructure sector.

The growth requires a brand new electrical substation, which can be constructed by Ellevio to strengthen the native electrical community. Ellevio’s Nils Rönnbäck famous that the power aligns with the area’s objectives for fossil-free operations.

AtNorth’s CEO, Eyjólfur Magnús Kristinsson, acknowledged that the corporate’s growth responds to demand for operators that combine technical capabilities with sustainable practices. The corporate has additionally introduced expansions in Iceland and plans for a future website in Sollefteå, Sweden.

Moreover, atNorth continues to pursue warmth reuse initiatives via collaborations in Denmark and maintains colocation partnerships with firms together with Nokia, Crusoe, and 6G AI Sweden AB.
