Amazon.com Inc.‘s AMZN cloud computing arm, Amazon Net Providers (AWS), is negotiating with the Italian authorities to speculate billions of euros to develop its information middle operations within the nation.

This initiative is a part of the tech large’s technique to reinforce its cloud providers throughout Europe, as reported by Reuters on Monday.

Discussions are ongoing concerning the dimensions and placement of the funding, with choices together with increasing AWS’s present website in Milan or establishing a brand new one.

AWS initially launched its infrastructure in Italy in 2012, and the corporate had deliberate to speculate 2 billion euros ($2.2 billion) within the nation by 2029.

The deliberate investments by AWS are anticipated to contribute 3.7 billion euros to Italy’s GDP by 2029. AWS’s consumer roster in Italy consists of notable names equivalent to luxurious carmaker Ferrari N.V. RACE, insurer Assicurazioni Generali SpA ARZGF and power supplier Enel.
