Zayo Europe has launched a brand new DWDM route which connects London to Paris.

The route, which is 400G prepared, expands Zayo Europe’s community in each the UK and France, offering a very numerous various on Zayo Europe’s current cable system, working alongside its different routes throughout the Channel. The route may even allow separate connections between different cities, reminiscent of Manchester to Frankfurt, with no overlap in networks.

Zayo Europe has mentioned it expects round a 20% discount in transit time or latency between factors of presence (PoPs), like London and Paris.

Michael Katz, VP for Product & Know-how at Zayo Europe, mentioned, “Because the surge in adoption of cloud and AI applied sciences drives an elevated demand on networks, the demand for dependable, low-latency connectivity has elevated, whereas the tolerance for community outages has diminished.

“Zayo Europe is dedicated to offering the very best connectivity and reliability for our prospects throughout the continent, and this new cross-Channel wavelength route marks an amazing enchancment within the variety we will supply between these two main hubs and past. This high-capacity, low-latency resolution will considerably profit these searching for a quick and safe connection between London and Paris, and can be essential for these needing to construct dependable and safe community options.”

Zayo Europe operates 5 subsea routes between the UK and continental Europe. This new CrossChannel route joins current Circe South and Channel Tunnel routes between London and Paris, while Zeus and Circe North hyperlink London to Amsterdam.
