Vertiv to acquire Great Lakes Data Racks & Cabinets

Vertiv has agreed to purchase American enclosure specialist Nice Lakes Information Racks & Cupboards in a $200 million deal.

As AI workloads are pushing energy and cooling necessities inside information centre white area ever greater, Vertiv is hoping to leverage Nice Lakes’ bespoke racks, seismic cupboards and superior cable-management choices to supply a one-stop store of pre-engineered, factory-integrated energy, cooling and enclosure packages for enterprise, edge, colocation and hyperscale websites.

“Nice Lakes is a number one rack producer with an intensive portfolio of high-end rack options and innovation capabilities which are important in an more and more demanding high-density AI infrastructure surroundings,” stated Gio Albertazzi, Vertiv’s Chief Government. 

“With the acquisition of Nice Lakes, Vertiv strengthens its place as a premier expertise options supplier within the important white area market. Our mixed capabilities allow us to ship complete, engineered infrastructure options that transcend primary integration, addressing the complicated challenges of next-generation AI expertise.”

Till the transaction closes, the 2 firms will proceed to function independently. As soon as regulatory sign-off is secured, which is predicted in Q3 2025, Vertiv plans to weave Nice Lakes’ product set into its personal world service and help community – an integration it claims will velocity deployment occasions and increase scalability for purchasers grappling with AI workloads.
