
Spiritus, a Los Alamos, NM-based climate-tech startup which makes a speciality of direct air seize (DAC) expertise, raised $30M in Sequence A Funding.
The spherical was led by Aramco Ventures and joined by Khosla Ventures, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, and TDK Ventures.
Led by Charles Cadieu, CEO and co-founder, Spiritus is a local weather tech firm on the forefront of Direct Air Seize (DAC) expertise. The corporate’s method combines the Spiritus Sorbent and the Spiritus Carbon Orchard, providing a scalable and modular system for low-cost DAC and sequestration (DAC+S).
Spiritus intends to make use of the funds to speed up three main services, demonstrating the feasibility of large-scale carbon seize and removing:
- New Mexico Pilot Facility: A 1,000-ton DAC website designed to show industrial-scale carbon removing, up and operating in months,
- Orchard One, Wyoming: the primary full-scale Carbon Orchard, designed to sequester 2 megatons of CO₂ yearly,
- The partnership with Aramco scales American exports and expertise overseas, proving that the U.S. leads within the race for a carbon-neutral industrial revolution. The partnership will additional develop the expertise and scale deployments within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
