Private cloud infrastructure provider SoftIron has launched a new functionality aimed at enterprise, government, and MSP users worldwide. According to the company, these enhancements empower users to replicate the advantages of public cloud within their on-premises infrastructure, with the aim of bridging the gap between private and public cloud experiences.

Since its inception in 2023, SoftIron has witnessed adoption across diverse sectors, including life sciences, education, manufacturing, and government. Jason Van der Schyff, COO at SoftIron, emphasizes the company’s commitment to enhancing performance in various domains as early adopters push the boundaries of private cloud utilization.

SoftIron’s flagship product, HyperCloud, is the world’s first true private cloud solution, the company notes. In a bid to address the challenges faced by enterprises attempting to run private clouds, HyperCloud offers a cloud experience with purpose-built infrastructure. Notable features include rapid deployment, full cloud scalability, elasticity, easy management via user-friendly portals or Infrastructure-as-Code deployment, and secure multi-tenancy.

The recent upgrade introduces computing capabilities with 64-Core/128-Thread AMD EPYC compute nodes, NVIDIA-based GPU intelligence nodes, and Socionext-based ASIC intelligence nodes. Furthermore, SoftIron says it has expanded its storage node portfolio to accommodate diverse needs, ranging from high-density HDD storage to performance-oriented SSD and NVMe storage options.

Recognizing the evolving landscape, SoftIron has added three new interconnect nodes to support future workloads, including 1GbE Management Interconnects, 25GbE High-Speed Interconnects, and 100GbE Spline Interconnects. This strategic move aligns with the shifting dynamics in the technology space, with VMware users re-evaluating their technology choices in light of recent industry developments.

“The VMware acquisition by Broadcom and their subsequent moves are forcing many VMware users to re-evaluate their use of this technology,” says Rob Hough, CEO at reseller Etage.

“Enterprises need to consider the right strategy forward for a world where new applications, designed to run on cloud-native infrastructure, are the new normal – including on-premises. Being able to offer our customers choice through partnerships with the likes of SoftIron has ensured we are seamlessly positioned to help our clients navigate these challenging times.”
