RISC-V-based {hardware} and software program options supplier SiFive rolled out its new 2nd Generation Intelligence family consisting of 5 new merchandise, the primary collection of RISC-V-based processors designed to energy intensive workloads for AI processing and edge computing throughout a number of markets.

The brand new merchandise enhance scalar, vector and matrix processing efficiency, and are designed to fulfill the necessities of purposes in automotive, robotics, industrial infrastructure and IoT infrastructure.

The X160 Gen 2 and X180 Gen 2 are designed for far-edge and IoT use circumstances and permit excessive throughput in small, power-constrained environments.

“AI is catalyzing the following period of the RISC-V revolution,” says Patrick Little, CEO of SiFive. “We’re seeing robust traction together with adoption of the brand new X100 collection by two Tier 1 U.S. semiconductor corporations. Our new 2nd Technology Intelligence IP builds on this momentum, including new options and configurability to speed up our prospects’ designs and time to market.”

SiFive’s RISC-V vector-based IPs improve the efficiency of AI fashions with lowered energy and space, with options which can be effectively fitted to edge AI. All the X-Collection IP household is able to Accelerator Management Models (ACU) operation, lowering software program stacks and enabling platform-level knowledge processing differentiation.

SiFive is tackling the necessity for AI by enabling excessive efficiency computing, with AI edge computing experiencing great development (78% anticipated development). Licensing for the brand new merchandise is accessible now, with first silicon in Q2 2026.

This product launch represents a significant step towards unifying compute architectures for AI on the edge, delivering scalable, power-efficient efficiency from microcontrollers on the far edge to accelerators within the knowledge heart.
