In a transfer in the direction of extra sustainable digital infrastructure, n2s has introduced a partnership with NTT DATA to help Virgin Media O2 in accountable knowledge centre administration throughout the UK. The collaboration will concentrate on the decommissioning and useful resource restoration of over 40,000 IT property, aiming to minimise waste and recuperate vital supplies. The initiative follows n2s’s report from 2025, the place the corporate processed over 33.5 tonnes of kit, offsetting greater than 322 tonnes of CO₂e emissions by round financial practices. These included reuse, refurbishment, and low-impact recycling.

NTT DATA brings further expertise with its dedication to sustainability. The partnership seeks to increase n2s’s outcomes by the introduction of superior city mining and bioleaching strategies. Developed by n2s’s modern sister firm, Bioscope Applied sciences, these approaches concentrate on the restoration of treasured metals like copper and gold by way of sustainable, low-carbon processes, aiming to scale back the standard strategies’ environmental influence.

As n2s scales its bioleaching operations, Govt Director Andrew Gomarsall expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration. The shared imaginative and prescient with NTT DATA and Virgin Media O2 embraces sustainable digital infrastructure, encouraging the accountable retirement of expertise and maximisation of round worth.

NTT DATA’s UKI CEO, Niccolo Spataro, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the partnership’s function in selling environmental sustainability inside the tech lifecycle. By n2s’s bioleaching expertise and Virgin Media O2’s environmental goals, the initiative highlights accountable expertise administration, balancing circularity with enterprise worth.
