Microsoft kicks off .NET 9

Microsoft’s upcoming .NET 9 launch, a deliberate main replace to the corporate’s cross-platform improvement platform, will deal with the event of cloud-native and AI-powered functions, the corporate mentioned in a bulletin on February 13.

With .NET 9, Microsoft mentioned builders will discover libraries and documentation to work with OpenAI and open-source fashions, together with the .NET group’s continued collaboration on Semantic Kernel, OpenAI, and Azure SDK to make sure .NET builders have a “first-class expertise” constructing clever functions.

Preview 1 of .NET 9 arrived this week. A manufacturing launch of .NET 9 is due in November, roughly a yr after the present .NET 8 arrived. Microsoft will assist .NET 9 for 18 months.

Along with .NET 9 Preview 1, Microsoft launched .NET Aspire Preview 3, which options UI enhancements to the dashboard and new part assist together with Azure OpenAI, Apache Kakfa, Oracle, MySQL, Azure Cosmos DB, and Orleans, Microsoft’s framework for constructing distributed functions.
