Macquarie breaks ground on AI & cloud facility in Sydney

Macquarie Information Centres has commenced the development of its new IC3 Tremendous West knowledge centre in Sydney, appointing FDC Building as the primary contractor for the undertaking.

IC3 Tremendous West is designed to help high-density cloud and AI workloads, and can utilise hybrid air and liquid cooling methods. This growth is the biggest addition to the Macquarie Park Information Centre Campus, positioned in Sydney’s North Zone, and can improve the campus’ complete IT load to 63 MW.

IC3 Tremendous West would be the seventh collaborative undertaking between Macquarie and FDC Building, following the completion of IC3 East. Ben Cottle, Founding father of FDC Building, stated, “Our longstanding partnership with Macquarie Information Centres is testomony to the belief and collaboration that exists between each organisations. With the fast adoption of AI leading to elevated demand for knowledge centres, FDC’s staff of consultants proceed to be on the forefront of delivering scalable, energy-efficient amenities like IC3 Tremendous West that may help the ever-evolving calls for of Macquarie Information Centres’ clients.”

The IC3 Tremendous West undertaking is anticipated to generate over 1,200 jobs within the area and can price roughly $350 million upon sensible completion of on the primary part, which incorporates the powered core and shell, in addition to 6 MW of IT load.

Like all of Macquarie Information Centres’ amenities, IC3 Tremendous West will likely be Licensed Strategic by the Australian Federal Authorities.
