Network enclosure manufacturer PRISM Data Centre Solutions (DCS) has been bought by US-headquartered company, Leviton. PRISM DCS, a UK-based company, was founded in 1996 and offers a services-focused portfolio that includes security caging, hot and cold aisle containment, design, fabrication, and installation of 19″ cabinets, as well as advice for communications networks and data centers.

The acquisition would strengthen the value that Leviton’s Network Solutions division offers to its clients in the commercial and data center sectors. Across the world, Leviton develops and produces comprehensive end-to-end copper and fiber structured cabling solutions. Leviton has its headquarters located in New York. The company’s portfolio now includes “premium” server, data, and network cabinets. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“As a global leader, we are committed to adding as much value as possible for our customers, and we are excited to add the team at PRISM DCS and their capabilities to Leviton,” said Ross Goldman, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Leviton Network Solutions. “PRISM DCS will continue as a separate entity, reporting into Leviton Network Solutions through our EMEA group headed by Ian Wilkie. There are no changes for customer ordering.”

“This is a fantastic day for PRISM DCS, and everybody involved with the business,” said Oliver Reynolds, who will continue to lead PRISM DCS as managing director. “Joining Leviton provides an unparalleled opportunity to improve the value we offer to our existing and new customers. Being part of a financially strong, global organization will only accelerate our growth and expansion across EMEA and further afield. Our award-winning solutions and services will fit perfectly into Leviton’s already impressive portfolio.”

Renowned for its wide array of networking and electrical solutions, Leviton is a global provider of high-performance equipment for the data center and telecommunications sectors. To provide reliable and effective high-speed data transmission, its data center solutions include superior fiber optic and copper connection, high-density cable management, and structured cabling technologies.

As a large U.S. manufacturer, Leviton provides a range of infrastructure solutions for the telecommunications industry, such as power distribution units (PDUs), copper and fiber optic systems, and network performance and scalability enhancers. Leviton’s solutions are designed to decrease energy usage in data centers and telecom facilities, with a focus on sustainability and energy efficiency. The company’s continuous research and development in connection, especially in fiber optics and high-speed data transmission, would demonstrate its dedication to innovation.

Leviton provides scalable and configurable systems that are customized to match the specific requirements of every institution. Leviton would guarantee effective solution deployment and upkeep with a worldwide presence and local assistance. In these heavily regulated sectors, their reputation as an innovative but solid supplier would be further cemented by their devotion to safety standards and regulatory compliances.

Leviton Network Solutions EMEA managing director Ian Wilkie adds, “PRISM DCS is the latest acquisition made by Leviton in the past few years and is another example of the company’s ambitions for the Network Solutions business.”
