Lantronix unveils AI-driven gunshot detection for public safety at the edge

Lantronix, a supplier of superior IoT options, has partnered with GWACS Protection to develop a military-grade gunshot detection system for business use.

The system makes use of Lantronix’s Open-Q 8250CS System on Module (SOM) powered by Qualcomm’s QCS8250 SoC.

The brand new Acoustic Occasion of Curiosity (AEI) will detect lively shooters in public areas like colleges and hospitals. 

With the combination of AI and DSP algorithms for real-time acoustic detection and superior 5G connectivity, the answer is scalable and adaptable for varied purposes whereas sustaining military-grade reliability. 

“Lantronix’s superior IoT SOM know-how enhances connectivity and scalability, enabling GWACS Protection to make obtainable its military-grade acoustic security system to colleges, hospitals, municipalities and personal enterprises,” says Tom Thornton, Director, Compute Options, at Lantronix Inc.

The case study highlights the profitable integration of superior navy know-how into the business market with a robust edge processing platform for gunshot detection.
