Lantronix launches AI-Powered edge gateway for smart grid control

Lantronix, a supplier of superior IoT options, has launched SmartLV, the primary AI-enabled IoT Edge Compute Mobile Gateway, powered by Qualcomm’s IQ-615 processor.

SmartLV is designed for low-voltage substations and distribution automation in good grids and industrial functions. The gateway enhances real-time visibility, management, and automation for Distribution System Operators (DSOs).

“The SmartLV Gateway is a leap ahead in empowering utility operators with crucial, real-time insights and management over their low-voltage substations,” stated Mathi Gurusamy, Chief Technique Officer at Lantronix. “By using Qualcomm Applied sciences’ AI know-how, this answer helps to deal with at the moment’s most urgent challenges on the fringe of the good grid.”

It options superior cybersecurity protocols and AI capabilities for safe operations in mission-critical functions. SmartLV permits clever vitality steering and dynamic decision-making on the edge, optimizing vitality stream.

Key options embrace multi-protocol communication, high-speed LTE and 5G connectivity, and edge computing for real-time selections. The gadget is fortified with Lantronix’s InfiniShield safety framework to guard towards cyber threats.

SmartLV is about to launch in CY 2025, with trials starting on the finish of CY 2024 for chosen DSOs.

The product is a results of a 15-year collaboration between Lantronix and Qualcomm Applied sciences.
