When Raymond Parpart, Director of Data Center Strategy & Operations at the University of Chicago, learned his data centers were the campus’ fourth-largest consumer of energy, he sought the help of DEEP, the Data Center Efficiency Evolution Program.
Fortunately, DEEP’s ability to assist data center operators and managers by identifying creative and effective solutions to reduce a given data centers’ costs, carbon emissions, and operational downtime across multiple systems matched the University of Chicago’s specific needs and goals.
In a new case study, DEEP teamed up with UChicago to reflect on the holistic assessment framework, the certification process, and the results of DEEP’s campus visit.
Along with insights from Raymond Parpart and Kevin Kent, Director of DEEP Assessments, the case study details how a data center can give back to its local environment and community while still delivering results.
