Groq Secures $1.5B from Saudi Arabia to Expand AI Infrastructure

Silicon Valley-based AI firm Groq has secured a $1.5 billion dedication from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to develop its superior LPU-based AI inference infrastructure. Introduced at LEAP 2025, this settlement strengthens Saudi Arabia’s rising function as a frontrunner in AI computing whereas addressing rising world and regional demand for high-performance AI options.

Groq has been quickly scaling its operations within the Center East, having established the area’s largest AI inference cluster in December 2024. The deployment, accomplished in simply eight days, positioned Saudi Arabia as a crucial hub for AI-driven computing. The corporate’s GroqCloud platform, powered by its cutting-edge information heart in Dammam, now delivers superior AI inference capabilities to shoppers worldwide.

Throughout LEAP 2025, Groq’s CEO and Founder, Jonathan Ross, joined Saudi Aramco’s Chief Expertise Officer, Ahmad O. Al-Khowaiter, and Tareq Almin to showcase real-time AI purposes, together with reasoning LLMs, the Saudi-developed mannequin Allam, and dwell text-to-speech fashions in each English and Arabic.

Saudi Arabia’s Imaginative and prescient 2030

This funding aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Imaginative and prescient 2030 initiative, which prioritizes AI and digital transformation to diversify the nation’s financial system. “It is an honor for Groq to assist the Kingdom’s 2030 imaginative and prescient,” stated Jonathan Ross. “We’re excited to work alongside Saudi innovators to form the following chapter of AI.”

Groq focuses on high-speed AI inference options, leveraging its proprietary LPU (Language Processing Unit) expertise to reinforce AI compute velocity, high quality, and vitality effectivity. Headquartered in Silicon Valley, the corporate offers scalable AI options for cloud and on-premise deployments, with all LPU parts developed, manufactured, and assembled in North America.
