Glīd Applied sciences, an Oakland, Calif.-based firm pioneering autonomous road-to-rail options inside the first mile, raised $3.1m in pre-seed funding.
The spherical was led by Outlander VC, with participation from Draper U Ventures, Antler, The Veteran Fund, M1C, and mission-aligned angel buyers.
Based in 2022 by Kevin A. Damoa, CEO, Chaitali Narla, CTO, Tony Petraborg, Chief Engineer, and Matt Mueller, COO, Glīd Applied sciences transforms static rail corridors into dynamic, high-throughput supply networks eliminating friction with its proprietary autonomous, dual-mode Glīders that function on each street and rail. These automobiles transfer commonplace containers instantly onto the rail community with out the necessity for terminals, drayage, or carry tools, enabling steady, on-demand freight move.
Earlier this month at New Mobility Futures in Detroit, Glīd launched two applied sciences together with Rāden is an unmanned, hybrid-electric road-to-rail car, constructed to autonomously journey throughout each modes of infrastructure, and EZRA-1SIX, its proprietary AI logistics orchestration platform. This clever system powers real-time dispatch, multimodal autonomy, and safe, human-in-the-loop operations throughout business and protection domains.
The corporate intends to make use of the funds to launch GliderM, a manned, hybrid-electric road-to-rail car, into subject operations in California and Washington in Q3 2025, and speed up improvement of the Rāden platform, broaden EZRA-1SIX capabilities, develop its engineering and enterprise improvement groups, and deepen strategic partnerships with ports, rail operators, and authorities businesses.
