Within the grievance, the group, which referred to as itself the Coalition for a Level Playing Field, accused Microsoft of  pushing OneDrive “wherever customers take care of file storage and Groups is a default a part of Home windows 11. This makes it almost unattainable to compete with their SaaS providers. Within the wider context, you see that during the last years, Microsoft, Google, and Amazon have grown their market share to 66% of the full European market, with native suppliers contracting from 26% to 16%. Habits like that is on the core of this progress of the tech giants and must be stopped.”

The grievance went on to say, “the European Fee’s Directorate-Basic for Competitors exists exactly for the aim of stopping this type of abusive habits and retaining the market aggressive and honest for all gamers.”

One other grievance, initially filed in 2019 after which revised in 2022, resulted in Microsoft reportedly agreeing to vary its cloud computing practices with a view to keep away from an antitrust probe from the European Fee, the EU’s antitrust authority.

That submitting was associated to complaints made by European cloud corporations, together with Aruba, OVHcloud, Danish Cloud Neighborhood, and the Affiliation of Cloud Infrastructure Service Suppliers (CISPE), about modifications had Microsoft made to the phrases of its outsourcing license settlement.

The cloud distributors had raised issues after their prospects have been requested to pay extra to run Microsoft software program in non-Microsoft cloud environments, underneath what they noticed as restrictive cloud licensing insurance policies.

Microsoft reached agreements with each French cloud supplier OVHcloud and CISPE in July.
