FastEdge introduces serverless edge execution, capitalizing on Gcore’s knowledge in cloud technology, artificial intelligence, and security. The backbone of the solution lies in Gcore’s content delivery network (CDN), which distributes custom code across more than 160 edge nodes worldwide, with the goal of ensuring nearly instantaneous responses to user interactions for unparalleled app responsiveness.
Central to FastEdge’s performance is the utilization of the WebAssembly (Wasm) runtime environment. Boasting an ultra-fast startup time, Wasm launches applications multiple times faster than traditional container-based solutions. FastEdge’s isolated sandbox environment enhances security, safeguarding against malware and guaranteeing a consistent, high-performance user experience.
In addition to its exceptional capabilities, FastEdge supports lightweight AI model execution at the edge, streamlining the process of developing, testing, and deploying GenAI apps.
