As international competitors over digital applied sciences intensifies, the European Fee is stepping up its funding to make sure Europe stays on the forefront of innovation.

The EU has introduced a significant €307.3m funding to strengthen its management in digital applied sciences, launching two new funding calls beneath the Digital, Business and Area cluster of the Horizon Europe programme.

The transfer alerts a decisive push to speed up innovation in AI, knowledge companies, and rising applied sciences, whereas reinforcing the EU’s strategic autonomy in an more and more aggressive international digital panorama.

Main funding push for AI and knowledge innovation

The bigger share of funding, €221.8m, targets the event of reliable AI and superior data-driven companies.

This name focuses on reinforcing Europe’s capability to design and deploy human-centric, safe, and moral AI options whereas lowering reliance on non-European applied sciences.

Funded tasks will help the Fee’s Apply AI Strategy and span a variety of digital applied sciences, together with robotics, quantum computing, photonics, and immersive digital worlds.

A notable component of this name is the allocation of greater than €40m to the Open Web Stack Initiative.
