Digital Realty partners with Digital Futures Programme

Digital Realty has agreed to grow to be a companion of the Digital Futures Programme, becoming a member of eight different employers from the digital infrastructure sector.

The programme, run by the Activate Studying Training Belief (ALET), is aimed to equip 14-19-year-olds with the information and abilities wanted to work in technical careers. The programme contributes to a BTEC Stage 3 Nationwide Diploma/Prolonged Diploma in Engineering (NQF),  

Digital Realty employees will have interaction with college students to ship a employer-led initiatives, problem days, masterclasses and abilities workshops.

“At Digital Realty, we’re very excited to be collaborating on this initiative,” stated Richard Oosterom, Director of Operations, UK & Eire at Digital Realty.

“We see it as a solution to contribute to the schooling of our present technology, to advertise the info centre sector, which is more and more vital for the digital financial system, and as a supply of improvement for our employees. It’s a win-win for all.”

Jo Harper, CEO of ALET, added, “The UK is going through an unprecedented abilities scarcity: we’d like engineers, laptop scientists and different digitally-skilled employees. The Digital Futures Programme is concentrated on equipping college students with the abilities to achieve the digital industries, bringing collectively firms that are severe about performing to deal with the abilities scarcity with STEM-focused faculties with specialisms in digital, engineering and science ready to forge a brand new path for his or her college students.” 

Launched at UTC Heathrow in 2021, the programme just lately expanded and is now accessible at UTC Studying, UTC Swindon and UTC Oxfordshire.
