Dell, Super Micro Shares Jump on Reports of ‘AI Factory’ for xAI

(Bloomberg) — Dell Applied sciences shares rose on Thursday (June 20) after chief govt officer Michael Dell stated the corporate is constructing a “Dell AI manufacturing facility” for Elon Musk’s startup xAI alongside Nvidia Company. 

“We’re constructing a Dell AI manufacturing facility with Nvidia to energy Grok for xAI,” Michael Dell wrote in an X put up on Wednesday.

Musk responded to feedback concerning the put up, saying that Tremendous Micro Laptop would even be offering servers. Tremendous Micro’s X account replied to Musk with a celebration emoji and a hyperlink to its web site. 

XAI will use Dell’s XE 9680 servers within the manufacturing facility, a Dell spokesperson stated in an e-mail. “Our measurement, scale, and breadth of options place us nicely for large-scale tasks like these,” the corporate stated in an announcement, including that the dimensions of its so-called graphics processing clusters permits it to coach AI fashions sooner.
