NEOM, the sustainable area taking form in northwest Saudi Arabia, and DataVolt, a Saudi-based worldwide developer, investor and operator of knowledge facilities, have signed a landmark settlement, marking a major step towards realizing the Kingdom’s imaginative and prescient for a sustainable, data-driven economic system.

The event will take a phased strategy, with section one – funded by an preliminary funding of USD 5 billion – anticipated to be operational by 2028. Aligning with Oxagon’s ambition, the 1.5-gigawatt manufacturing unit will combine a variety of computing densities and energy-efficient architectures to handle the worldwide challenges posed by conventional knowledge facilities.

In line with the Worldwide Power Company (IEA), knowledge facilities at present devour between 1 to 1.3 % of worldwide electrical energy demand.
