Cloudflare firewall reacts badly to React exploit mitigation

Throughout the identical window, Downdetector noticed a spike in drawback reviews for enterprise providers together with Shopify, Zoom, Claude AI, and Amazon Net Companies, and a number of client providers from video games to courting apps.

Cloudflare defined the outage on its service status page: “A change made to how Cloudflare’s Net Software Firewall parses requests precipitated Cloudflare’s community to be unavailable for a number of minutes this morning. This was not an assault; the change was deployed by our workforce to assist mitigate the industry-wide vulnerability disclosed this week in React Server Parts.”

That vulnerability, tracked as CVE-2025-55182, permits attackers to remotely execute code on internet servers operating the React 19 library. Cloudflare was little question making an attempt to guard these of its clients who haven’t but had a possibility to patch the vulnerability within the two days since it was revealed.
