Cisco backs quantum networking startup Qunnect

In partnership with Deutsche Telekom’s T-Labs, Qunnect has arrange quantum networking testbeds in New York Metropolis and Berlin.

“Qunnect understands that quantum networking has to work in the true world, not simply in pristine lab situations,” Vijoy Pandey, normal supervisor and senior vice chairman of Outshift by Cisco, acknowledged in a weblog in regards to the funding. “Their room-temperature method aligns with our quantum information middle imaginative and prescient.”

Cisco not too long ago introduced it’s growing a quantum entanglement chip that would in the end change into a part of the gear that may populate future quantum information facilities. The chip operates at room temperature, makes use of minimal energy, and capabilities utilizing present telecom frequencies, in line with Pandey.
