Expanded portfolio of Silicon One P200-powered techniques

Cisco in October rolled out the P200 Silicon One chip and the high-end, 51.2 Tbps 8223 router geared toward distributed AI workloads. That system helps Octal Small Kind-Issue Pluggable (OSFP) and Quad Small Kind-Issue Pluggable Double Density (QSFP-DD) optical kind components that assist the field assist geographically dispersed AI clusters.

Cisco grew the G200 household this week with the addition of the 8122X-64EF-O, a 64x800G swap that can run the SONiC OS and contains assist for Cisco 800G Linear Pluggable Optics (LPO) connectivity. LPO parts usually arrange direct hyperlinks between fiber optic modules, eliminating the necessity for conventional parts akin to a digital sign processor.

Cisco stated its P200 techniques operating IOS XR software program now higher assist core routing providers to permit data-center-to-data-center hyperlinks and knowledge heart interconnect functions.

As well as, Cisco launched a P200-powered 88-LC2-36EF-M line card, which delivers 28.8T of capability.

“Accessible for each our 8-slot and 18-slot modular techniques, this line card allows as much as an unprecedented 518.4T of whole system bandwidth, the very best within the trade,” wrote Guru Shenoy, senior vice chairman of the Cisco supplier connectivity group, in a blog post concerning the information. “When paired with Cisco 800G ZR/ZR+ coherent pluggable optics, these techniques can simply join websites over 1,000 kilometers aside, offering the high-density efficiency wanted for contemporary knowledge heart interconnects and core routing.”
