Sony Semiconductor Israel introduced the industrial availability of its ALT1350 wi-fi System on Chip (SoC) for mobile IoT. LPWA mobile modules, designed by AM Telecom and Fibocom, are actually accessible for sampling, with mass manufacturing set for the primary half of 2024.

The Altair ALT1350 is a mobile LTE-M/NB-IoT SoC that integrates a low-power MCU, sensor hub, safety, iSIM and sub-GHz LPWA transceiver. The corporate says that eDRX connectivity and low energy consumption supply as much as 10 instances longer battery life than earlier generations.

In response to Nohik Semel, the CEO of Sony Semiconductor Israel, this SoC allows purposes in numerous sectors like good cities, logistics, well being units and wearables. Semel provides that it ushers in an period of seamless connectivity the place battery effectivity is not a fear.

“We’re excited to be working with our companions to carry this SoC to the market and assist them construct progressive merchandise,” says Semel.

Sony notes that the ALT1350 chipset presents connectivity choices for numerous industries. It capabilities as a low-power mobile modem, mesh machine and router, with a number of backup selections. The corporate asserts that it’s supreme for asset monitoring and supplies wealthy options and efficiency in a single-chip answer.

Jin Gyu Lee, the CMO of AM Telecom, says that creating our connectivity module and community machine based mostly on the ALT1350 chipset has been a helpful expertise. This collaboration supplies a major benefit in LTE community protection and cost-effectiveness by combining sub-GHz LPWA and LTE-M processing on a single SoC with the ALT1350.

Sony Semiconductor Israel says it presents low-power, cost-efficient chipsets for industrial and client IoT purposes like trackers, good meters and wearables. Their mobile IoT chipsets are deployed on networks worldwide.
