On Thursday, 25th January, Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced plans for a monumental $10 billion investment in Mississippi— the single largest capital investment in the state’s history. This colossal investment, four times the size of the previous largest economic development project, aims to establish two state-of-the-art data center complexes in Madison County.
In a blog post, Amazon reflected on its venture into the Magnolia State which began in 2010 with a cumulative investment of $2.3 billion to date. This includes the establishment of five fulfillment and sortation centers, four delivery stations, five solar farms, a wind farm, and a Whole Foods Market location.
