AR/T House today revealed its new Smart Avatars, an app-less augmented reality technology with AI-powered content. AR/T House also showed a use case in Venice Beach, California: A hologram representation of historical figure Abbot Kinney, with which users can engage to learn more about the area.

The Smart Avatars come with a content management system and built-in AI capabilities. These include conversational and informational dialogue, as well as custom inputs. The test case, the hologram of Abbot Kinney, is capable of giving information about Venice Beach as well as offer responses to questions from users.

According to AR/T House, users can customize the avatar anyway they choose to suit any brand experience. The company reports it’s engaged several brand partners with the new technology.

Justin Fredericks, CEO of AR/T House, said in a statement, “By combining AR and AI, our smart avatar technology unlocks an opportunity whose whole is greater than the sum of its parts. AI is the brain of the avatar; AR is its body. This combination brings information to life like never before. For the Abbot Kinney avatar, we are able to tell the story within the history of Venice Beach in a highly immersive, interactive format for all ages.”
