“AI has the potential to generate greater than a trillion {dollars} in AI-related infrastructure spending in cloud and enterprise knowledge facilities over the following 5 years,” stated Baron Fung, Senior Analysis Director at Dell’Oro Group. “AI infrastructure, which incorporates servers with GPU or customized accelerators, together with devoted networking, storage, and amenities, are extremely capital-intensive. Whereas the trade continues to evaluate the potential return on AI-related investments, main efforts have been underway within the ecosystem in attaining long-term sustainable capex development,” defined Fung.

Extra highlights from the Knowledge Heart IT Capex 5-Yr July 2024 Forecast Report:

Worldwide server income is forecast to achieve almost $0.5 trillion by 2028.

Accelerated servers might account for greater than half of the entire server revenues by 2028.

Prime 4 US-based Cloud SPs—Amazon, Google, Meta, and Microsoft—will account for half of worldwide knowledge heart capex as early as 2026.
